Announcing Our Student Day Website!

For Students Passionate About Travel, WYSE Creates Student Day

University students welcome to meet youth travel industry experts

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Amsterdam 5 July, 2012—The World Youth Student & Educational Travel Confederation (WYSE) – the world’s most  powerful network of youth and student travel professionals – is excited to announce its first ever Student Day to be held at WYSTC, its annual global industry event held in San Diego this year.

The one-day programme will offer university students the unique opportunity to learn about the industry by meeting businesses and experts that represent the main sectors in youth travel. In previous years, WYSTC was held in Barcelona, Beijing and Manchester. Now it is coming to San Diego, giving local students an unparalleled opportunity to explore this dynamic industry, a global market worth US$173 billion a year.

Michael Palmer, Host Committee Chair for WYSTC2012, says: “The program is all about learning and introduces students studying hospitality, travel and tourism to the workings of the industry and potential careers. Even if a student isn’t studying hospitality, if they like to travel, this is an extraordinary opportunity. There is nowhere else in the world they can talk face-to-face with this many student travel companies.”

More young people are travelling today than ever before.  In 2011, youth travel accounted for more than 20 per cent of all international arrivals and at current growth rates, that number is estimated to reach 300 million by 2020, according to United Nations World Travel Organization forecasts.

The one-day program includes a welcome, opening and keynote speaker session, educational seminars on the industry, and the opportunity to network with exhibitors and ask questions.

Student Day will provide a tremendously valuable experience for students. It will give them the chance to meet people who are passionate about travel, as well as explore a potential career path in the youth travel industry. Please see the Student Day website for more information.
