Our next webinar entitled ‘Youth & Student Travel Market’ – Pricing Research will be held on Wednesday, 25 April at 17:00 CET. Samuel Vetrak from StudentMarketing will lead the webinar, discussing the benefits of market research, providing an overview of WYSE Travel Confederation’s programme and introducing you to the bespoke Research on Demand offer.
WYSE Travel Confederation is committed to collecting and delivering more high quality data and market intelligence for its members and the youth and student travel industry, and developed a Research Programme to provide more access to market research.
The webinar will cover the new Research Programme, which benefits members with the release of the Industry Review Series:
- A series of research studies, compiling recently available data on industry matters that affect members’ businesses (youth travel market dynamics, mobility, pricing, customer preferences and marketing).
- The First Industry Review was released July 2011: Youth and Student Travel Market – Data, Statistics and Trends.
- The Youth and Student Travel Market is seeing excellent growth, 37% increase in the last 10 years with up to 187 million travellers creating a market value of US$165 billion in 2010 (20% of global tourism).
- The market was affected by – but is more resilient to – the economic downturn with some sectors out-performing through the recession.
- Youth and student travel is on the increase, as youth travel becomes more affordable and new markets see both innovation and growth.
- Regular industry review helps to identify your performance in the market.
WYSE Travel Confederation members will also have the opportunity to commission tailor-made research particular to their sector and business needs – Research on Demand – at a discount. This will also be covered during the webinar.

As of early 2011, more consumers access the Internet via their mobile phones than via PCs. Travellers in particular, deprived of their home broadband link, completely rely on their smartphones for information and communication. This webinar will show you how your company can set up a successful mobile channel to delight clients and improve the efficiency of your operation.
The travel industry is embracing the mobile phone as the channel to market to clients and service them when they are on the move.
Companies like Virgin and Accor show that mobile services create highly satisfied, loyal clients. This one hour webinar will expose you to concrete, actionable steps to plan your next move with mobility.
Jaap Favier is the founder and director of The Small Circle, a strategy consultancy. From 2000 to 2009, he worked at Forrester Research, where he led the global Marketing Leadership Research team which published more than 200 reports on emerging consumer trends, eBusiness, CRM, media and marketing innovation and sustainability.
